This is going to be an exciting series, and I hope that if you follow along (in practice) you’ll see how much you can change in your life in a short period of time.
If everything is rolling fine for you, if you are fully satisfied with your life, then this post series is not for you. But if you’re not happy with where you are right now, if you still feel that you are missing something, or that there’re few items you’d like to manifest in your life, then, this is for you.
This is going to be a 3 part series that’s going to rock!
First Things you Need to Know for your Affirmations to Work
When I first learned about the importance of affirmations, one thing that I wasn’t specified, which was omitted by the coach, was that it ONLY works when you start believing in such affirmations.
The reason why so many people say that affirmations don’t work, is due to the fact that they don’t truly believe their affirmations. Sorry, it doesn’t work that way.
For affirmations to work, you need to have the following in place:
- You create an affirmation about something you do not yet have.
- Your repeat that affirmation over and over with feelings that will induce the belief that it’s already here.
- Eventually your affirmation will get into your subconscious mine.
- Once it’s there, it’s only a matter of time to become a physical reality.
This is the formula for affirmations that work, but for the most part, the problem lies with inducing and checking on our true feelings.
Unfortunately, even if you repeat an affirmation over and over with an opposite feeling than the one you’re affirming, it won’t work. The simple reason why it won’t is because it’s not penetrating the subconscious mind for as long as you don’t truly believe it.
An affirmation that you can’t manage to believe will NEVER work. It’s that simple.
Is our Subconscious Mind Stubborn?
Have you ever wondered how things penetrate your subconscious mind so easily when you’re a child while it takes so much work for an adult? It’s because of two things.
1) Small children are actually reacting more subconsciously than they are consciously. That’s why 99 percent of our subconscious programming happens before we reach the age of 16.
2) Small children’s subconscious doesn’t have any programming or not enough programming yet to prevent new information to get in.
As adults we have so much stuff stuck in there, that’s actually literally blocking new information and ideas to get in.
It’s like learning a new language. Have you ever observed a child learning a foreign language? Like a breeze.
I remember once, a little cousin of mine had spent 3 weeks in Spain with her grandmother, and she came back speaking Spanish like it was a mother tongue. She actually had a hard time speaking French. It was so funny. Her mother was saying, boy she’s speaking Spanish to me now!
Something like that would most likely never happen to an adult, because as we grow older our mind becomes more ridge, so to speak. We get into the habit of living too much on consciousness and not enough on subconsciousness. Since children live the other way around, they absorb things much easier. Good or bad.
Since we can’t go back into childhood, we must find a way, to erase all the negative programming and replace it by the positive ones, as easily as a child would. But how?
Negative Programming Exposed
When you consult with a life coach, or get involved in personal development you come to realize how much negative stuff is in your head. For sure it’s worse for some people than others, but nonetheless, unless you grew up in a perfect environment it’s bound to happen to some degree.
In my case, personal development showed me that my subconscious mind was affected negatively to a LARGE degree. And we’re talking about someone who grew up in a loving family with a loving mother that never hurt me in anyway intentionally. But there are still other factors out there that can affect the subconscious of a child.
Now imagine those who haven’t grown up in a loving family?
So, the point is that for most people who are walking around on this planet, their subconscious mind needs help and repair. Big time. But even when they come to this realization, they don’t know how to fix it. Then they hear about doing affirmations, but they realize that it doesn’t work.
So, what is the best way to get rid of the bad subconscious data and replace it by the good one, so you can start living the life that you’ve always dreamed of?
Destroy the Bad Programming with Kindness
Do you know how vaccination works?
Vaccines work by mimicking disease agents and stimulating the immune system to build up defenses against them.
The immune system responds to the vaccination in such a way that protects the body from a specific disease in the future. It works the same as when you actually had the disease once and are now immunized against getting that specific disease or specific virus ever again.
In other words, you prevent a disease by a simulation of it or by the disease itself. You’re killing the virus with kindness, so to speak, right? You give it in a minute amount to the body and it cures it.
In order to make your affirmation work, you need to apply that same principle.
Don’t worry, if you’re still confuse now, you be for long. Just bear with me.
Over my years of having practiced so many affirmations in so many different ways, I came to the conclusion that there is ONLY ONE way to cure the bad programming, it’s by first admitting, recognizing and even “loving” the negative bad programming for what it is. Then, and only then, are we able to replace it with one that is positive and good.
I found two super easy and fantastic ways to do this. One has to do with Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), and the the other with the truth checking using a pendulum.
Gosh, when you’ll learn how to do these two correctly, you’ll be amazed at what is going to start happening in your life.

I think this post is for everyone because everyone is not always happy in life, even though we keep trying to find happiness, which actually lies within us – we just don’t see it.
Yes, the problem likes in checking our own true feelings, something we sidetrack and keep away. I agree, self affirmations can never work when your thoughts are negative or when you don’t want to believe or do a certain thing, yet you are doing it.
Absolutely! Kids are so much quicker than us and it amazes me how my kids learnt 3 languages in school, while I hadn’t even taught them those as I didn’t know one of them!

As you know, I’ve had difficulty from time to time myself because I was always told I had to visualize it and feel that it was already mine. You know I have problems visualizing something that I don’t know what it looks like. I can get excited about it a time of two but it’s difficult for me to do it each time because I can’t “see it”.
I also had issues when people said that you had to raise your vibrational energy level. I didn’t know what that meant and I probably said that wrong but you know what I mean. I hate it when things aren’t explained to me so that I can understand and this use to drive me nuts so of course I’d get frustrated and what I desired wouldn’t show up.
I eventually learned, and thank goodness for that, what your vibrational energy level really is. It’s what you said, that feeling that you believe it will happen. It’s like that gut feeling I get when I just know that I know. I can’t explain it and it might not make sense to others but I just know that something will happen or come to me. I was told that if you appreciate it then you’ve reached that level. If you expect it to happen then you’ve reached that level.
Once I “got it” then things started to happen for me. It takes time, you’re right about that but say those positive affirmations every day like you mean it, like you really know it’s coming and it’s yours. You can taste it and feel it. That’s where you need to be whether you can visualize it or not.

Even though this is a theme that is becoming more widely spread because of the online world, it’s still unknown to many. I know that from my “physical” world, the people that I see outside of the online world, they know nothing about this stuff 🙂 Yet, it’s so important that we do. It’s been life changing for me.

I for one am always bombarded with negative thoughts and this stems from having been in an abusive relationship. It’s getting easier now but at first I struggled with how to get those thoughts out of my mind and for a while it was hurting my relationship with my hubby because I brought my issues with me.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg. There are other factors that have lead up to my lack of confidence but I am working on that and daily affirmations is one of the things I do along with a morning prayer.
One thing I’ve learned is those negative thoughts are hard to let go of but with practice they soon start to fade away. I just can’t wait until I get to the point where there are only positive thoughts floating in my mind :).

It’s a process, but it’s also based on the fact of “simply making the decision.”
When we let our past destroy our present it can ONLY be in thoughts. We we don’t let those thoughts come in we CAN”T be hurt by them. I know it’s easier said than done, but it’s a practice of being able to get RID of bad thoughts.
We can get wet by yesterday’s rain and we can’t get burn by tomorrow’s sun. Something to think about right?

One of the things I learned from Richard Bandler was that the subconscious mind cannot recognize a negative in language. Things like “don’t drink and drive” are heard by the subconscious as “drink and drive”. I guess that is why drunk driving arrests actually increased during the “Don’t Drink and Drive” campaign back in the 80s.
That means that its important to make sure that your affirmations are not only in present time, they are also free from negatives. In other words they say only what you want to experience.
Another piece of advice I got from my mentors in NLP was to keep the number of affirmations small and the wording short. 3-7 affirmations you feel passionate about will have a much greater effect on your consciousness than dozens read by rote. If they will fit on the back of a business card easily, then you have simple enough affirmations for them to sink in deeply.
Last, I was taught to create a very vivid visualization complete with emotions, sounds and smells of the affirmation realized and hold that in your mind for a few moments after you say the affirmation aloud.
