How Can You Attract More Business – Part One

How can you attract more business?

This is a question that most if not all business owners are asking themselves on a regular basis. The reason why it might be difficult to attract more business and sales for a lot of people is because they are usually looking for some external cures to their problems when they should be looking inward.

Why do you Need to Work from the Inside to Attract more Business?

If you have skin problems, for example, you might be looking at some external cure and it may work to some extent.Β  However, even though external cures can help, the real problem is internal and as long as the internal problem is there, you will have to remedy constantly from the outside. Β The outside remedy will help the problem, but not cure it. Β If you could find a remedy that takes care of the inside issues, you would never have to worry about healing from the outside again.

It’s the same thing when you want to attract more business and make more money.Β  While it’s advisable that you do all you can from the outside, such as using all the marketing avenues that you can and so forth, you need to do even more from the inside, because if you don’t, whatever great efforts you could be doing could be sabotaged from the get go. Β This is not a theory, it happens to a lot of people on a daily basis.

Have you ever met people who don’t necessarily have much talent, or aren’t necessarily that smart, or really don’t have anything special at all, and yet they always seem to be successful no matter what they do?Β  Have you ever met people who get away with a lot while you won’t get away with the littlest thing?Β  Have you ever seen people get passed you while you were maybe more knowledgeable and more qualified for the job? Β Things like these happen all the time.

Is that Luck?

Whether you have witnessed such situations or not, it does happen.Β  I have observed each and every one of this type of situations myself and while some people will call this β€œluck” it’s the worst term you should give it.Β  This has nothing to do with luck, but everything to do with the β€œsubconscious programming” of the individual.

Luck is just the word used by people who don’t know any better.Β  I have stopped using the word luck, because the more knowledgeable I’ve became about the subconscious mind the less β€œluck” made any sense to me.Β  And I’m probably talking for any life coach out there.

The more you get to understand how your brain works the least β€œluck” will make sense to you.Β  As a matter of fact, there is very little room for luck if any, but I can tell you that everything come from within.

One Brain Two Minds

We have one brain, but we have two minds – The conscious mind and the subconscious mind

The conscious mind is what makes you take every day decisions such as what you are going to wear, what you are going to eat, what task to take care of first, what client you need to talk to, etc.Β  Your subconscious mind is what makes you get up in the morning more or less at the same time whether you put your alarm clock or not.Β  It’s what drives the car while you can think of everything else but where you’re going, and it’s even what decides what type of car you drive what type of job you have and more.Β  Your subconscious mind is what makes you or not procrastinate in front of an important step you need to take for your business.

If you are used to read this blog or any other personal development blogs, you know that the subconscious mind is much, much more powerful than your conscious mind and it’s the part of your mind that has direct access with Higher Intelligence.

When people are saying β€œI had a bad intuition” or β€œa bad feeling” it comes from their subconscious mind.Β  When people say β€œI knew it!” it comes from their subconscious mind. When someone is starring at you and look up because you felt it, it comes from your subconscious mind.Β  In other words, the subconscious mind knows everything, while the conscious mind is very limited.

Consciously you probably want to get more business and make more sales.Β  You might be physically doing everything you can to attract more business, but the reason why you don’t it’s because while you want something consciously, subconsciously it’s an all different game. Β And out of the two, your subconscious will always win.

The best way to attract more business if Β you are still struggling is by doing it subconsciously.Β  The question is how do you do that?

How can you Reprogram your Mind for more Business?

Among the best tools that I’ve tried to reprogram my subconscious mind are the ones that helped me go right from the roots while bypassing what we is called the critical factor, commonlyΒ known as the β€œgatekeepers” which is that part of the mind between the conscious and the subconscious that prevents new ideas to come in or at least to come in easily.

The gatekeepers have a purpose; they prevent you from doing dangerous things like jumping off a bridge, or even ending your life just because you feel depressed. Β However, those same gatekeepers (the critical factor) will also prevent good ideas to come in contact with your subconscious mind.

This is why when you have a negative belief that leads you to fail in business, it’s not easy to change such subconscious belief, because it’s well protected.Β  It can only be done if such new belief gets through and reaches your subconscious mind.Β  As long as an opposite belief will reside there, you external effort will only be very limited.

For this very reason, personal development experts, have developed ways to reach the subconscious mind the fastest and easiest way possible. One such way is self hypnosis. Β I am not going to go in details about self hypnosis in this post since I explained what it is in this post.

Self hypnosis is one hundred percent safe and powerful because it’s one of the best ways you can access the subconscious mind fast by over passing those gatekeepers. Β I use this method myself to increase my business. Β Next week I will tell you more about the method that I use and we will analyze how it can help you too if you choose to use it.

In the mean time, let us know what you are doing to heal the “inside” to attract more business on the outside. Please, do tell…

  1. What a great analogy. I know exactly what you mean. It’s like, if you have dry skin because you’re dehydrated and don’t drink enough water, then you can put on all the moisturizer you want but you’re not treating the problem. You’re just fooling yourself into believing you’re getting results. In the end, you still have the same problem.

After reading many of your posts on the topic of the subconscious mind, I kind of want to rip mine out and send it packing, lol. It sounds like it only exists to make life more difficult!!

It’s true, we can really sabotage ourselves with beliefs we hardly know we have. It’s like swimming against the current. We consciously want to get ahead but we keep struggling against the forces around us instead of working with them. Even the littlest negative belief can make us give up before we realize it. Somewhere deep down we have that feeling of “I’ll never get this right” and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. It’s really important to be aware of how our own thoughts and minds are affecting us so we can break through the negative beliefs.

As always, you give me something to think about! Thanks for your insights and advice.

    1. Ahaha, Carol, believe me I’ve been wanting to make my subconscious mind packing too πŸ™‚ Since it has bugged the hell out of me for 30 years!

That’s also why I started to get more and more intrigued and wanted to know know that dear subconscious mind that had been pissing me off for so long! πŸ™‚ So I totally understand what you mean, Carol.

The best thing we can do is get to know the “beast” as much as we can, so we can take more control in our life.

Thanks for your feedbacks, Carol and so funny as always πŸ™‚

  2. Wonderful post Sylviane!

I loved the way you explained everything so well that helped us understand things. πŸ™‚

Yes indeed, all curing is always and should be first done from the inside before the outside, which is what really cures the problem from the root. Without doing so, you can never really treat the real problem and it simply remains there hidden and surfaces again sooner or later.

Oh yes! Don’t we all believe that the grass is greener on the other side, or one of us is luckier than the other. But, we need to understand what you mentioned, that it isn’t luck after all, instead, the subconscious mind that makes us do what we do.

I guess I need to try out self-hypnosis and how it keeps the gatekeepers away to really understand how it all works and what affect it has.

Thanks for sharing and I look forward to the second part about the methods you recommend and use. πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Harleen,

Nice to see you here πŸ™‚

Yes, people are quite confuse about what they call “luck”. interestingly, as I was reading Ilka’s post today she mentioned the commercial with that swimmer athlete who says, “luck didn’t bring me here, I swam here”. When I heard that commercial I had to look up because it was the smartest commercial I ever heard. That tells it all.

I love self hypnosis. I have a couple of different kinds and I am going to talk about one of them on next week’s post.

      Thanks for your input πŸ™‚

  3. Oops!

As I was saying . . . I’m thrilled to come across your site. And thank you for your thorough explanation here.

Something in your post made me want to thank my subconscious self for all the good things it does too. I think about certain things programmed in that seem to always return me to vibrant health . . . or a better thought . . . or rich relationships. Though I too want to root out what’s not serving me, it struck me how much actually is serving me quite well!

Thank you! I’m going to go forage a little more on your site —

I am very glad that you could resonate with the post and that it made you think. Now that is all the purpose of such posts, isn’t it?

Thanks for coming and I hope to see you again soon.

  4. I must say that your post is wonderful. It is very unique and informative. You have good command on the topic. Thanks for sharing.

Well, thank you very much for the compliment. I hope you’ll come back for more, then. On my next week post I’ll have a little video πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Lisa,

Nice to have your here again. I am glad you could resonate with the post and enjoyed it. Next week I will have my first on camera video to explain a few points πŸ™‚ Wow, that was about time!

  5. I use to have a boss Sylviane who was a millionaire. He came from a poor and abusive background but worked his way up to own his own business and become very successful. Sometimes he wasn’t the most truthful about things but the CFO always use to tell me “he’s one lucky guy”. I always use to tell him that luck didn’t have anything to do with it. He knew what he wanted, that’s all he thought about and he knew he’d get it. Sure enough, he always did. Now he wasn’t the happiest guy around but he sure was rich.

I know what you mean about reprogramming your subconscious mind. I had a guy send me his product he wanted me to promote but it was a hypnosis course. I’ve never been able to be hypnotized and I did give it a go but just couldn’t seem to get there so this method is lost on me I’m afraid.

I still will look forward to your next post. I have no doubt I’ll enjoy that one as well.

    1. Hi Adrienne,

I’m so glad you told that CFO that your boss success had nothing to do with luck, because you were so right. There are some people sitting on the side line watching other people who are busting their ass and then succeed and they (those sitting on the side line) are saying, wow, they’re lucky. That’s crazy!

By the way, I just made a video that I will publish on my next post explaining why some people think that they can’t be hypnotized. Wow, videos, that was about time, right?

  6. Hi Sylviane
I am with you the use of the word luck. I never use it either. I think people that appear “lucky” have created it from the inside. I do know people who seem to have everything go their way as designed and I believe it is because it is just that – by design.

The town I live in in Australia is a seaside tourist town. We have had a couple of years of summers with flooding and less tourists. The Australian dollar is also very high at the moment and therefore we are not so attractive to international tourists right now.
I have noticed the business owners have joined into some sort of collective voice saying how bad business is, how hard it is etc.
There are a few businesses who have chosen not to join the voice and you can guess how much better their results are – oh but maybe it is luck πŸ™‚

Thanks Sylviane for a great post.

    1. Wow, what a story, Sue. Those poor business owner apparently know nothing about the law of attraction, because what they did is like throwing gasoline in the fire instead of water to try to stop it.

How smart were those who didn’t want anything to do with that were. Thanks for that input, dear πŸ™‚

  7. Hi Sylviane,

thanks for sharing your insights. I agree with you that the Unconscious is very powerful. I am just concerned about the word “mind” because it suggests that our body has no business with the Unconscious. If our body and its cells were part of the Unconscious though, any cure that just addresses the mind would be pointless, wouldn’t it, just like the lotion for someone’s skins.

    Take care

    Oliver

    1. Hi Oliver,

The mind “doesn’t mean just somewhere in your brain” The mind does include our body of course. It includes our whole person… what’s visible about it and what’s not.

Hope this clarify this for you πŸ™‚ Thanks for your feedbacks.

  8. Very true and a lovely article. You always need to fix the inside first. This was explained well in the book 7 habits of highly effective people. I can’t remember the terms Mr Covey uses now but his approach is also an inside to out one.

  10. Hi Sylviane,
Your post made me think on a lot of things, most especially about the time I tried to put up a small business but ended up not being successful at all (or more like I gave up easily when I β€œthought” it’s not going to work out). I agree that the negativity I felt that time was because my subconscious was programmed to be more on the pessimistic side. I think I’ll try again, research more on what type of small business I can start here at my area, and this time, be more optimistic about it and have fun. Thank you for the inspiration and motivation!

    1. Hi Felicia,

Yes, your enthusiasm is very important and if you want to work on your subconscious mind it is actually necessary that you start to get read of negative thinking and pessimism. As a matter of fact, if you get to my next post this will be explained more fully.

  11. Hi Sylviane,

I like the term “LUCK” but I don’t like the way people use it. People don’t try or work on things and when other guy got something that they couldn’t get (But could have), they might call it luck. So I don’t like calling it luck there.

I don’t know the exact thing happening with our own mind, but you know well. You have learnt it and I agree with your facts here Sylviane πŸ™‚ You know, I just feel it though I don’t know the reason behind it. Like meditation helping me out.

Well, I’m looking forward to read next post πŸ˜‰ That would be really interesting.

    Cheers…

    1. Hi Mayura,

Sorry for the late reply, been so busy lately.

The word luck on its own is OK to use if you know when and how you are using it, however, when someone is successful because he worked his butt off, and people are calling this luck they are miss guided.

Thank you for your feedbacks πŸ™‚

  12. It is absolutely amazing what can be accomplished with your subconscious mind. That is why it is absolutely crucial to fill our minds with positive thoughts, affirmations, and personal development. By feeding our mind (conscious and subconscious) with positive information, we will be planting the seeds and later reaping the rewards of a successful business.

    1. Hi Freddy,

You are totally correct, and true success comes when you can align your conscious and subconscious, because as long as they are not on the same page not much good will happen. This is the tricky part.

Thank you for your feedbacks πŸ™‚

  13. Sylviane,
You have described this in such a way that anyone can understand it. The subconscious mind is something well worth to be acknowledged in any situation.

I’ve been working on it for years an still do. We are creatures of growth and as we grow and encounter new challenges, we need to make decisions. Relying on the conscious mind will only blind you. Acknowledging the subconscious and how it works will help you make better choices in life. From what you eat to where you move or choosing a business.

The thing that you call “the gate keeper” is so important for people to learn about. Once going through self-hypnosis (which is safe) you start to recognize that gate keeper which will stop you in new endeavors.

Keep on writing my friend. You are probably helping more people than you realize.

  14. Sylviane,

I have come to think about the subconscious mind as being a software program kind of like an operating system for a computer. It is a very powerful operating system. How we live and the choices we make are generally governed by this overpowering operating system.

Our conscious minds are more like smaller programs that run within the confines of this operating system. Our conscious minds are more powerful than people give them credit for however. They are more powerful because out conscious minds are the only way to intentionally reprogram our operating systems. We have to consciously fix the bugs and rewrite the code of our operating system so that it does what we really want it to do.

Our subconscious mind is constantly molding and shaping itself as life experiences happen to us. If we never stop to think consciously about it, then our subconscious mind will get shaped only by the circumstances that accidentally happen to us throughout our lives. It is our job, if we want more control over the outcomes of our lives, to reshape that inner operating system so that it acts in the way we really want it to.

Anyone who can master that, will surely master life itself.

  15. Hi Ted, beautifully said.

The comparison you are making of the subconscious mind with a computer operating system is perfect. Once the computer is programmed, unless it’s reprogram it will do what it’s programmed to do. This is exactly what our subconscious does.

If we don’t like the programming we need to use our conscious to reprogram it.

Welcome here, and thank you for your great feedbacks.
