What You’re Experiencing Today Is What You’ve Created Yesterday

Let me say that one more time, what you’re experiencing today is what you’ve created yesterday.  If everyone would understand that, half of battle would be won.  Unfortunately, for most of us, we spend most of our lives no knowing and not understanding this concept.  That’s why people keep asking why me? Why me? Why me?

One very crucial thing that you need to understand is that your subconscious mind will ALWAYS prove you right. No matter what. If you are not familiar with the subconscious mind and how it works, you can read this first, and come back here once you’re done.  If you are aware of the ways our subconscious mind works, then let’s keep reading.

Since our subconscious mind doesn’t reason the same way our conscious mind does it can only “protect” us based on what it knows. Since there is no true or false, no right or wrong and no good or bad for the subconscious, the results we “consciously” expect could be in total disharmony with what we are actually attracting (creating) in our life.  Let me explain that with a true story.  And what better than my own true story!

The Subconscious Mind is Programmed Early in Life

The subconscious mind is usually programmed or shaped by the time we reach 7 years of age. However, that doesn’t mean that other events and experience won’t contribute to it either. But for the most part, our subconscious is shaped by the way we “experience” things early in life. It can be a daily experience, a dramatic event, or even something we were told often by our parents or anyone raising us as a child.

Before I reached the age of 7, I went through two different dramatic experiences in my young life. One was a daily experience and one was a dramatic event.  Those two experiences were,  1) being victimized and bullied in school and 2) the sudden death of my father at age 34 in a car crash.  The bulling started when I was 4, and my dad died when I was 5.  Both experiences happened at a very decisive age where my subconscious was taking it all in and shaped itself accordingly.

So, what does my subconscious learned from those two negative experiences? Well, as you can imagine, nothing good.  To make a long story short I’ve learn that people left me, hurt me, made fun of me and didn’t want to be with me.

Nicely done, thank you very much!

Decades after those experiences had happened and long gone away they were still affecting me all the way into my adult life.  I was still hurt (emotionally) by people a lot, and they still didn’t want to be with me.  As a matter of fact, this became so severe, that it could only wake me up and scream at me something is wrong here!  Time to rewind the tape and see what’s broken, or else!

Recognizing What’s Wrong!

What was broken, so to speak, was my subconscious mind.  Do you remember when I said that the subconscious mind doesn’t use “logic” like the conscious does?  Obviously, consciously no one will chose to be hurt, left alone or deserted, but subconsciously that’s another story.  Subconsciously we do believe outrageous things.  The reason why many people don’t do anything about it is just that they are not conscious of it and, therefore, never become AWARE of their subconscious state.

Even though I am aware now it was not always the case, far from it.  I certainly wasn’t raised around the understanding of the subconscious mind, as most of us aren’t, are we?

You see, what we experience today is what we’ve created yesterday with our mind.  For the most part the unconscious part of it.  that part is call the subconscious mind. That’s where the trick is.

Changing the Programming of your Subconscious Mind

If you don’t like your current experience (your life), just remember that it’s what you’ve created yesterday with your subconscious mind.  If you want your experience to be different, you need to consciously change your subconscious programming today, so you can attract different results tomorrow.

If you’d spend your whole life never knowing or understanding what your subconscious beliefs are, you would keep attracting the same kind of experience and results.  It would be like the same movie playing over and over.  No matter where you would go and no matter what you would do.  You would  see the same pattern coming around again and again and you would probably say, “why me”?  I know I have, many, many times.

Why you?

In order to be able to change your results, to change what you’re experiencing today, you need to help reprogram your subconscious mind today.

Why you? Because that’s what your subconscious mind has been programmed to bring you.

Your subconscious will NEVER prove you wrong.  No.  It will ALWAYS prove you right.  If you believe that no one likes you, no one will ever like you.  I have succeeded pretty well with that one myself. It was the belief I forged a very long, long time ago subconsciously, and my subconscious mind proved me right all throughout my life.  This is the way our subconscious mind “protects” us.

How is your Subconscious Mind Protecting you?

Why in the world, our subconscious mind which is supposed to protect us is bringing about negative results?

Let it be very clear that the subconscious mind is not built to bring us negative experiences, and yes, it’s job is to help and protect us, the same way an autopilot system helps a plane stay in the air without the pilot having pretty much anything to do.  We could say that the autopilot system is helping the pilot and protecting the plane by assuring a careless flight.

Now, however, imagine that an error was inserted in the programming of the autopilot.  Let’s say that the autopilot was mistakenly programmed to shift north while it should have been programmed to shift east.  The problem is that the direction that the plan is now taking is a dangerous one, there is a high mountain that the plane will hit unless the pilot corrects the mistake before it’s too late.

You see, the autopilot was originally created to protect the plane (like our subconscious mind is the bigger part of us designed to protect us).  If an error occurs, however,  in the programming of the computer of the autopilot it will bring about negative results for the plane and its passengers.  When there is a negative programming (an error) in our subconscious mind, the same rules that apply to protect us, unfortunately, also apply to our own detriment.  Just like the autopilot of the plane.  Until the error is corrected, the plane will keep going in the wrong direction. Until the error is corrected in your subconscious mind your life will keep going in the wrong direction as well.

How to Change Your Results?

In order to be able to change what you’re experiencing today, you need to reprogram your subconscious mind today.

In order to do this you need to first become aware, and reading this post it’s a good start.  Start unveiling the secrets of your subconscious mind and you will be able to consciously reprogram what’s in there.

On a previous post I have mentioned several methods that you can use to do that, so I won’t repeat them here.

Start to consciously change your thinking pattern using some of the methods mentioned on this blog.  I have use myself the tools I mentioned on this blog and more. What ever you may choose, the important thing is that you start now, because what you are creating today will come about tomorrow.

So, what are your thought on that? How much have you understood about YOUR subconscious mind?

  1. What an exciting post Sylvaine! You have explained the subconscious mind to us in a great way. Thank you for sharing a bit of yourself in your post. Oh boy, losing your dad at an early age surely caused the subconscious to protect you from people leaving. And being bullied at such an early age does stick with you!

These are the things most people are not aware of. I am so glad you brought this to their attention. Your first line says it all: “Let me say that one more time, what you’re experiencing today is what you’ve created yesterday.”

Once someone understands this concept, they have completed half the battle. Working on it will only bring one to wellness and power!

    Great Post!
    Donna

I have done lots of work through different modalities working on my subconscious due to my early years of a terrible childhood. It has been effective and also I have grown in leaps and bounds.

    1. Hi Donna,

Thanks for your great insights. I am sorry that you had a bad childhood and I can only imagine the hard work that you must have had to put in to get not only better, but to become a successful adult.

I only wish people understood what they are doing to their children when they are not doing the right thing and my goal is to teach especially parents. I want (in the future) to create webinars and seminars to coach parents about handling they kids in order for them to grow up with a healthy subconscious mind. (a lot of parents need that type of training). Enough that there is always going to be some areas we can’t help such as in my case the death of my father.

      Thank for coming, again, Donna!

  2. Great post, Sylviane! I remember a while back when I noticed that it seemed like something always seemed to mess things up at the last minute. It has been frustrating to see how often that happened, but now I know how vital it is to stop sabotaging my efforts, and hopefully, as I continue on my path, I will learn how to do this less and less until it stops happening.

    1. Hi Steve,

I am glad that you were able to define the problem, because that’s where we all need to start. Identifying the problem, first, in order to fix it.

      Thanks for your visit 🙂

  3. Hi Sylviane,

this is a wonderful post. If we try to change the subsconsious mind’s programming, we will have to consider one important rule: Whatever we do, it needs to believe. If we the highest amount we’ve ever made per month is 2,000 $, we shouldn’t ever try to programme it for 20,000 $ a month. But chances are, our subsconscious mind will believe us that we want and can make 2,500 $ a month to begin with. Also, if I was a smoker who tried to quit smoking three dozens of times, why should our subconsious mind support us this 37th time without a little extra dosage of seriousness, sense of importance and desire ?

    Thanks for sharing your insights.

    Take care

    Oliver

    1. Hi Oliver,

You are totally right, as a matter of fact I was explaining just what you are talking about in a post I’ve written earlier this year. There is no need to go from $2000 to $20.000 because it won’t be believable for our subconscious mind. And if the subconscious doesn’t believe it, it’s not going to happen, as we know.

However, by like you said, increasing little by little the subconscious will adapt and we will be able to go up and up that way!

Thanks for your great insight, Oliver 🙂

  4. The mind is so interesting, and can be very powerful. Thank you so much for sharing. I have to start reprogramming my mind.

  5. This is a great post followed by a creative title Sylviane 🙂 Really nice. I’m sorry about your BIG loss. I can’t imagine growing up without a father or mother. And yeah, I remember you stating how you were bullied at your school. But now I guess, you are having a wonderful life 🙂

I’m recalling some friends of mine and family members who always used to murmur “Why me?”. They think they are not responsible of what’s happening to them. Is it fair even? Yeah, some incidents are unpredictable. But low marks for exam without studying, drop in sales due to lack of commitment for business, spending terrible lives due to drugs. Can they ignore? Sometimes I wonder why, they still don’t get it. May be ignorance? Though I show them the cause, they present different type of reasons to stay out of it while not taking responsibility. They are not willing to change.

So I think, as you said, subconscious mind helping and protecting them. To change results, they need a will of change. Desire and commitment as their salvation army. isn’t it? Else, sadly, life will keep going in the wrong direction.

However I’m really sad when someone goes in wrong direction, when I show their cause and provide solutions (Even your posts or so). It’s not my problem, but sometimes I scold myself why I can’t stop ’em. My efforts vanish into thin air. Jus’ you know, it’s a precious human life but get wasted. When a blind or special need children can stand alone himself, why can’t they? They are living terrible lives ’cause of what they did. What they have experiencing today is what they have created yesterday 🙁

    Cheers…

  6. I agree with everyone else Sylviane, what an excellent post. Thank you for sharing your own experiences with us, it helps us be able to relate.

I’ve been learning a lot about this area probably for the past five years now. I didn’t quite understand it all up until probably a year ago. I finally “got it” so to speak. I’ve made a lot of changes in the way I think about certain things and I now have a daily ritual that I follow. It helps keep my thinking on the right path. I know the results are happening as I continue implementing this. I’m just so excited about what the future holds for me now.

The sooner people understand this the sooner they can get on the right road. I think this topic is so exciting and I never get tired of learning about it. Thanks so much for sharing this.

Have a fabulous day and a wonderful weekend.

  7. I definitely agree that what we are experiencing today is the outcome of what we have done yesterday but I know there will always be a lesson behind it. There may be some instances when we thought that these challenges are the barriers to our success but actually, it is what makes us stronger.

  8. It is the self-fulfilling prophecy! You are so right, Sylviane. If we expect things to be a certain way then they will be that way. If we expect to get a certain thing, we will get it. We fulfill all our own lowest expectations unless we can wake up and be mindful of how our thinking affects us every day. I can think of some people I know who are always saying “why me?” It drives me crazy. I just say “why not? who else is it going to be?”

This all has to do with your previous post on victim mentality, too. People who get sucked into that belief that the world is out to get them are always going to see shadows in every corner.

It sounds a little cliche to talk about “positive thinking” but it’s quite relevant. And on the other hand, if you have nothing but negative thoughts, then you will be surrounded by negative things.

I am glad that you found your way out of your poor early programming to see that you are worth every good thing you get!

    1. Hi Carol,

Yes, if only people understood what their are DOING or better said what they’ve DONE to make them say, “why me” they wouldn’t even have to say it in the first place! Very paradoxical, isn’t it?

That’s why people need this type of learning and I am just one of the now many people online trying to provide them with some understanding and maybe, some answers 🙂 If they only look for it though, they will find it!

But I know from reading your blog, Carol, that you already know about this 🙂
